Talley’s Picks: Maxima MPPL Penetrant Lube
When dealing with a stubborn seized or broken fastener such as a screw, nut or bolt that won’t come loose, sometimes it takes a strong penetrating lube to break it free.
Maxima makes a powerful Multi-Purpose Penetrant Lube (MPPL) for use on all kinds of powersports vehicle repairs. The MPPL spray inhibits rust, displaces moisture and reduces friction, and is the go-to penetrant lube for many powersports repair technicians like Partzilla’s resident pro John Talley.

Here’s what John said about using Maxima MPPL penetrant lube during a recent Partzilla Live Q&A session:
John Talley: For a jammed air/fuel mixture screw on an ATV carburetor, as far as which penetrant to use, I mean, you’ve got the regulars like PB Blaster and WD-40, but there’s one that Maxima makes. I used it the other day. Maxima makes this MPPL, and it’s my go-to. I started using it a couple of years ago and I’ve been really impressed with it. Maybe PB Blaster got it going first, but when I use this stuff and let it sit overnight, most of the times it’ll break free. Whatever it happens to be. So I’d say give that a shot. You may want to pull the carb off the machine and lay it on its side where you can spray down in there and let it sit overnight, not just spray in there and let it run out. Although, if you want to just keep squirting it in the side every couple of hours, that would work as well.
