Honda CBR600 F4i Motor Oil Change
Fresh motorcycle oil for your Honda motorcycle keeps the engine healthy and performing at its peak, and should be a part of its regular maintenance schedule.

- Ratchet and extensions
- 15mm socket
- Torque wrench
- 65mm oil filter wrench
- Oil filter
- 10W30 motorcycle oil (4 quarts)
How to Change Honda CBR600 Oil
Step 1. Run the engine for about 45 seconds to warm the oil, which helps it drain faster. Next, remove the oil fill cap from the lower right side of the engine, which also helps the oil drain faster.
Step 2. Position a drain pan under the engine, then remove the 12mm drain bolt and crush washer from the underside of the engine, and let the oil drain out.
Step 3. Inspect the crush washer for wear and replace it if necessary. Reinstall the crush washer and drain bolt, and torque the drain bolt to 22 foot-pounds.
Step 4. Use a 65mm oil filter wrench to remove the oil filter from the front of the engine.
Step 5. Rub a film of oil onto the rubber gasket on the new oil filter and install the filter. Torque the oil filter to 20 foot-pounds.
Step 6. Fill the engine with 3.5 quarts of 10W30 motorcycle oil, and reinstall the oil filler cap.
Step 7. Run the engine on idle for about 15 seconds to distribute the oil throughout the engine, then shut the engine off and let the oil settle for a minute.
Step 8. Check the oil level in the sight glass on the lower right side of the engine. The oil level should be between the mid and upper portion of the sight glass. Top off the oil if necessary and you’re done.
