How to Change Suzuki Boulevard M90 Oil
A Suzuki Boulevard M90 cruiser is all about a smooth ride, and if you want to keep it that way, it’s best change to the oil when it’s due.
Like most motorcycle oil changes, there’s no point in wasting money paying a mechanic to change it if you can do it yourself in minutes. Watch the video above and follow the steps below to change the oil in a Suzuki Boulevard M90.

Changing Suzuki Boulevard M90 Engine Oil
Step 1. Run the engine on idle for a minute to warm the oil and help it drain faster. Next, remove the dipstick from the left side of the crankcase, which allows the engine to breathe and also helps the oil drain faster.
Step 2. Put a drain pan under the engine, and remove the 18mm drain bolt located at the bottom of the crankcase to let the oil fully drain out.
Step 3. Inspect the drain bolt’s crush washer, and replace it with a new one if it’s worn out. Reinstall the crush washer and drain bolt, and torque the drain bolt to 16.5 foot-pounds.
Step 4. Remove the oil filter from the lower front of the engine using a 68mm oil filter wrench.
NOTE: Have shop towels or rags ready to catch any oil that spills from the old filter as it’s removed.
Step 5. Lightly oil the new oil filter’s O-ring with engine oil, then install the new oil filter and torque it to 14.5 foot-pounds.
Step 6. Refill the engine with 3.4 quarts of Suzuki Ecstar 10W-40 motorcycle oil.
Step 7. Reinstall the dipstick, and run the engine for about 15 seconds to circulate the new oil through the engine. Next, shut off the engine and let the oil settle for a minute.
Step 8. Remove the dipstick, wipe away any oil and set it back in the crankcase without threading it back in. Next, lift out the dipstick again and check the oil level. Finally, top off the oil level if necessary, reinstall the dipstick and you’re done!
