Yamaha TT-R125 Unit Spotlight

The TT-R125 is a terrific, easy to ride off-road Yamaha motorcycle that can be a great stepping stone for young riders and a beginner bike for adults as well. 

The key to the TT-R125 is found in its lower seat height. One barrier to getting new riders comfortable on a motorcycle is when they can’t reach the ground from a seated position, and the TT-R125 alleviates some of that. With a lower 32-inch seat height, this dirt bike can be ridden by bigger kids as well as adults. And it does this with more than 11 inches of ground clearance, meaning it can handle demanding, rugged terrain.

On the performance side, this smaller motorcycle offers torquey power that makes it a great choice regardless of the trail conditions. Equipped with a 124cc, air-cooled SOHC engine, it’s a step up from a beginner machine. It offers a five-speed transmission that keeps the rider in control, a forgiving gear package that allows good power delivery across different applications. This dirt bike is trail ready, with a suspension built for aggressive riding or just a fun day on the dirt. A stiff frame stretched onto a long wheelbase offers a robust platform for larger riders while maintaining a surefooted, agile handle. Up front, a 31mm adjustable fork with more than 7 inches of travel helps build confidence on rough trails. 

The adjustable rear shock offers 6.6 inches of travel to give aggressive riders a feel they can trust as they challenge the motorcycle. A lightweight aluminum swingarm keeps the unsprung weight down, and gives the TT-R125 outstanding suspension performance. The wheel package is a 19-inch front wheel and a 16-inch rear, giving it a precise steering feel across all sorts of surfaces.
