Yamaha Rhino Unit Spotlight

From 2004-2012, Yamaha produced the popular Rhino UTV. The Rhino straddled both the recreational and the utility markets, and was renowned for both hitting the trails and working the land. 

Ranging in displacements from the Rhino 450, the Rhino 600, and on up to 700, it came in both two- and four-wheel drive configurations. 

The Rhino was a groundbreaking Yamaha UTV when it made its debut. Before the Rhino, much of the industry saw side-by-sides through a purely utilitarian lens: good for hauling and land management. But limited power and ground clearance stifled the appetite for consumers looking for something more exciting. The 2004 introduction of the Yamaha Rhino 660 brought together the utility features of past UTVs with the sporty excitement of an ATV.

With 11 inches of ground clearance and 7.3 inches of wheel travel, the Yamaha Rhino succeeded where other UTVs had failed. The added ground clearance and wheel travel allowed the Rhino to tackle tougher terrain, and uprated engine performance added speed and excitement to the ride. 

In the years since, the side-by-side market has rolled down two different trails. On one side, there are UTVs designed for utility work. On the other, there are UTVs designed to conquer demanding trails with excitement and speed. The Rhino offered the best of both worlds!
