Is the Yamaha Grizzly Stock Muffler the Quietest?
If you’re trying to make your Yamaha Grizzly ATV as quiet as possible, would putting the stock muffler back on be the best choice, or should you go with something else?
Partzilla’s Yamaha ATV expert John Talley hosts live Q&A sessions on our YouTube channel every Friday at 3pm Eastern. In this session, John was asked if the stock muffler on a 2007 Yamaha Grizzly 700 is the best option to make it as quiet as possible.
Yamaha Grizzly Stock Muffler Q&A
I have an 07 Yamaha Grizzly 700. Would the stock muffler be the best muffler to put back on it if I want to keep it quiet?
John Talley: Definitely. I do remember putting a muffler on a muffler, and this was for a hunter. I believe it was for a Polaris unit. He wanted it just as quiet as it could be. But the short answer to your question is yes, the stock one is going to be just about as quiet as you’re going to get. Now, if you need to knock down the sound a little bit more, there are extensions where you’ve got the stock muffler, and then another one like I mentioned, to really get it quiet. But I want to warn you, the performance suffers. It was a hunter with, I think a Polaris 800, and he wasn’t really concerned with getting to the deer stand quickly. He just wanted to get there quietly. So chances are they probably make one for your unit as well to make it even quieter.
