Step 1. Run the engine for a couple of minutes, then turn it off. The heat thins the oil a bit to make it easier to drain. Next, open the oil fill cap to allow air into the crankcase, which also makes it easier to drain the oil.
Step 2. Get a drain pan underneath the drain bolt, and remove the bolt using a 19mm socket. When the bolt comes out, grab the oil filter screen and the spring behind the bolt.
NOTE: If the oil filter screen and spring are not attached to the bolt, they may have fallen into the drain pan.
Step 3. Clean the oil filter screen thoroughly with a little contact cleaner.
Step 4. Attach the spring to the drain bolt with the narrower end going into the drain plug. Next, place the screen back inside the spring, then replace the drain bolt and tighten it to 11 foot-pounds.
Step 5. Fill the engine with oil at the fill cap opening with about 1.1 liters (just over a quart) of PS-4 full synthetic oil.
Step 6. Replace the fill cap, then run the engine for a couple of minutes to circulate the oil. Next, stop the engine and check the oil level. Top off the oil if necessary and you’re done.
