Where Do I Put Floor Jack for Honda Goldwing GL1800?
Given how large and heavy the Honda Goldwing GL 1800 motorcycle is, it can be difficult to determine where to safely put a floor jack underneath it without damaging the engine.
Partzilla’s Honda motorcycle expert John Talley hosts live Q&A sessions on our YouTube channel every Friday at 3pm Eastern. In this session, John was asked for his suggestion on where to safely place a floor jack beneath a Honda Goldwing GL1800 to lift it up for repairs.
Honda Goldwing GL1800 Floor Jack Q&A
Where do I put a floor jack on my Honda GL1800 motorcycle? I look forward to your response.
John Talley: I actually had to go back and look to see how I did that, when I did the front fork seals on our GL 1800. There is no frame to come up under because the engine is pretty much the frame. So I used one of those little scissor lifts after I put a couple of straps on the rear end. Because you don’t want that thing falling on you, and I just went directly under the engine and brought it up. So if you would, reference that video that we have online and you can see exactly where I had it positioned. And I think this one had some type of aftermarket engine cover, but at any rate, you can get an idea of where I positioned it so it doesn’t do any damage.
